South by Southwest

South by Southwest host Lincoln

Bringing you the very best in honky-tonk, western swing, and straight ahead country music. If you've never heard Webb Pierce sing "I Need You Like a Hole In The Head" or Bill Boyd's high-octane rendition of "I Can't Tame Wild Women (But I Can Make Tame Women Wild)", you probably haven't discovered SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST, a weekly radio show on WMPG enthusiastically devoted to honky-tonk, western swing, and straight-ahead country music. Every Monday morning at 9, host of the show and wanna-be Texan LINCOLN resumes his quixotic quest to assemble an army of country music lovers -- one listener at a time. And by country music, he most definitely does NOT mean the alleged song stylings of such pop schmaltzmeisters as Shania Twain, Travis Tritt, or The Dixie Chicks. HELL, NO! SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST worships in the church of REAL country, and Garth Brooks is the anti-Christ. So walk on through the swingin' doors and get schooled in the ways of car-hoppin' mamas and juke-joint daddies, cheatin' hearts and honky-tonk angels. SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST features music recorded prior to 1975. OUR HEROES INCLUDE:
