Ron "Stuck in the Eighties" Raymond Interviews The English Beat's Dave Wakeling
On Monday, November 16th, 2009, exactly one week before The English Beat took Portland's skanking concertgoers by storm, Ron Raymond, Jr., host of WMPG's Sunday night radio program STUCK IN THE 80s, interviewed Dave Wakeling, the voice of legendary 80s bands The English Beat and General Public. "Save It For Later Ron" and Dave talked about Margaret Thatcher, John Hughes' massive no-particular-order record collection, how Miles Copeland of I.R.S. screwed him over for a lot of money, and how he wouldn't partake in VH1's Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 80s list - because he isn't one! It was a great interview on November 16th and an incredible show on November 23rd. Ron would like to send special thanks out to Dave Wakeling and The English Beat, WMPG, and Hannah Brotman and Laura Fagins with the English Beat Publicity team for setting Ron up with the interview and the opportunity to meet Dave after the show.
